New Delhi, Aug 4 (INB) More than six lakh learners have enrolled on the SWAYAM Plus platform, while over 34 lakh candidates have registered on the FutureSkills PRIME portal for upskilling in emerging technologies, the government informed Parliament. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar said the SWAYAM Plus platform offers more than 500 employability-focused courses curated by over 80 industry partners across 15 sectors, including Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing. The minister said the platform has been designed to enhance learners’ employability by providing industry-relevant skill development courses. He further said the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched the FutureSkills PRIME programme to upskill learners in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA). According to the minister, the courses under FutureSkills PRIME have been developed in consultation with industry to align training with evolving employment requirements. He said more than 34 lakh candidates have registered on the FutureSkills PRIME portal so far, including over 9.58 lakh candidates enrolled in AI and Big Data Analytics-related courses.
